Chelsea have just completed the transfer of 25 year old  Yuri Zhirkov from CSKA Moscow for £18million.

Zhirkov can play anywhere on the left side, he’s strong in both attack and defense.

I first noticed him when he was playing for Russia in the Euro 2008 qualifying and Championship.  He caused no end of problems for the English fullbacks when England faced Russia in qualifying.  He was clearly one of the best players on the Russia side, at the same level as players such as Arsavin who signed for Arsenal last season.

Keep an eye out for this talented player, he’s sure to turn some heads in the Premier League this season.
